The Bane Family: This playground was built in remembrance and honor of The Bane Family. Four members of The Bane Family including Christina and Edgar Bane and their two autistic sons, Edgar Jr and Carl lost their lives during Hurricane Katrina. Their two daughters survived. The playground was opened on August 23rd, around the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, at Ellwood Bourgeois Memorial Park. The playground includes some of the two boys favorite things.
